Hi! I’m Nereida, nice to meet you!
I translate and proofread in different language combinations: English, German and Chinese into Spanish.
My areas of expertise are legal, audiovisual and technical translation. At the same time I have academic education and experience in media accessibility, content writing and search engine optimisation (SEO).

REVIEWING, EDITING AND COPYWRITING
In addition to translation, I am a professional proofreader and editor.
As part of my working process, proofreading plays a key role in delivering the highest quality to my clients.
Since 2014, I have been working as a content writer or copywriter in different fields, such as SEO translation, gastronomy, tourism, marketing and cosmetics.
I do not only have experience in SEO and the general guidelines of content writing, but also with tools such as WordPress which I use to improve your reach and audience engagement.

LEGAL, TECHNICAL AND AUDIOVISUAL TRANSLATION
Regarding the legal field, I work with different types of documents, but mostly financial texts, as well as contracts or corporate texts.
I also have been working in this field since 2020, with an approximate volume of 250,000 words translated for both agencies and direct clients.
I work with different technical texts, mainly in the following fields: automotion, software and hardware, business documents with high industrial terminology, electronic devices, manufacturing and user manuals.
Since 2018, I have translated more than 600,000 words in the technical field, both as a freelancer and as an in-house translator.
Since 2021, I have collaborated with different agencies and clients on audiovisual projects related to dubbing, subtitling, subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing, and voice-over. I carry out more technical tasks such as the formatting of audiovisual content, or even more creative aspects such as transcreation.
On the other hand, in the audiovisual field, I have worked on video game translation projects with an estimated volume of 300 thousand words translated, mostly for mobile games.

My passion for languages came about as things that you keep always in your heart: slowly, quietly and without even realising it.
When I noticed that the ability to learn different languages could (never better said) translate into a professional career, I decided to follow this path until I became what I am today: a translator and proofreader.
It is generally said that translation is a way of building bridges between cultures. In my opinion, and after years of working experience, I like to think of myself as the architect of those bridges, where I carefully lay each stone to capture every possible nuance, until I create a fixed structure that allows me to pass from one side to the other without obstacles. In the end, a translator is more than just a channel. They are partly the author of their own words, as well as the conduct through which language barriers fade away.
This is the main reason why I am in love with my job and why I strive day after day to treasure it for much longer.
